A physiologically based pharmacokinetic model of ambroxol in silico

Abstract

Ambroxol, an active metabolite of bromhexine, is widely used to treat respiratory tract diseases accompanied by excessive sputum secretion, such as colds, acute and chronic bronchitis. Physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling of drugs attracts the attention of modern scientists due to the potential possibility of individual dose selection and optimization of complex pharmacotherapy.
