Study by hplc of the active ingredient dextromethorphan hydrobromide for the presence of hydrocortisone admixture

Abstract

Compared to morphine, levorphanol does not have complete cross-tolerance, it has intrinsic activity on the μ-opioid receptor (MOR). The duration of action is long compared to other similar analgesics and varies in the range of 4-15 hours. For this reason, levorphanol is useful for the relief of chronic pain and similar conditions. The ratio of oral to parenteral efficacy of levorphanol is 2:1, which is the most favorable among potent drugs. The novelty of the experimental research is the development of special conditions for HPLC chromatography of the composition of dextromethorphan with an additional component - hydrocortisone, which will allow preserving its chemical structure from degradation.
