Abstract

The relevance of the phytochemical study of the leaves of Hierochloë odorata (L.) P. Beauv stems from the growing interest in modern pharmaceutical science in natural bioactive compounds of plant origin, particularly phenolic compounds, which are characterised by a broad spectrum of pharmacological activity. H. odorata is a well-known medicinal and aromatic plant with centuries of use in folk medicine and the food industry; however, its potential as a source of pharmacologically valuable substances remains under-exploited.
