Professionally oriented foreign language training in medical universities of Ukraine

Abstract

The realities of large-scale military aggression in Ukraine, alongside the immense progress in the medical field, have intensified the societal need for highly qualified specialists capable of international cooperation. High level of fluency in English for Medical Purposes strengthens the healthcare professionals’ communication, trust relationships, and strong partnerships of all around the world, promoting international cooperation and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and professional experience exchange. The ability to implement medical English in practice serves as an indicator of the professional growth, which demonstrates the enhancement of cultural, linguistic and professional competencies essential for medical practice. In this regards, the incorporation of the professionally oriented foreign language training into the learning process at Ukrainian medical universities has become increasingly significant.
