Sepsis as the multidisciplinary problem of modern medicine and the case of fulminant Klebsiella sepsis

Abstract

The article discusses the statements of WHO from April, 30, 2014 Report «Antibiotics resistance – serious danger for public health», in which physicians raise alarm in regard to increasing antibiotic resistance of 7 diff erent bacteria types that cause such widespread and severe diseases as sepsis, diarrhoea, pneumonia, urinary tract infections and gonorrhoea all over the world. In fact, Klebsiella pneumonia – is one of the most important causative factors of hospital infections such as pneumonia, blood infection, new-born infections and infections in patients from intensive care unit’s. Using of Carbapenem antibiotics does not have any eff ect because more than half of humans treated with these drugs are resistant to them. Current situation with the problem of sepsis is also discussed in the article. We represent data about risk factors of sepsis occurrence, its aetiology, pathogenesis, the role of system inflammatory response syndrome in sepsis development. Sepsis’s pathomorphology, classification, clinical, laboratory and instrumental diagnostics are provided. The special attention was paid to systematic approach in treating sepsis, septic shock, including the resistant one. We developed the tactical schemes of emergency aid, criteria of its effi ciency and showed the range of necessary drugs application, intensive care support. The modern variants of Klebsiella infection course and Klebsiella sepsis peculiarities are discussed. The clinical case of fulminant Klebsiella sepsis is adduced and its clinical features are outlined.
