Phytochemical characterization of phenolic compounds in zinnia peruviana L. herb by HPLC

Abstract

The genus Zinnia includes approximately twenty species of annual and perennial herbaceous plants belonging to the family Asteraceae. These plants are widely cultivated across the world due to their rapid growth, extended flowering period, and high ornamental value. Beyond their horticultural importance, species of the genus Zinnia have attracted increasing scientific interest because of their potential pharmacological properties. Phytochemical investigations indicate that representatives of this genus contain a diverse range of secondary metabolites, including flavonoids, sesquiterpenes, sterols, and diterpenes.
