Analysis of problems and prospects of development of voluntary medical insurance in Ukraine

Abstract

Health insurance is a branch of insurance activity, defined as a system of socio-economic relations to protect the interests of citizens or members of their families in case of loss of their health for any reason. Medical insurance is financially linked to the compensation of citizens' expenses for the payment of the cost of providing medical and pharmaceutical assistance, as well as other health care expenses, for example, carrying out preventive and sanitary measures, dental prosthesis, etc.
