Cooperation between Ukraine and Poland in countering the cross-border spread of infectious diseases

Abstract

Strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland in the field of public health is a timely response to current cross-border epidemiological challenges. This cooperation is grounded in the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Poland and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dated 28 March 2024, as well as in the Declaration of Intent between the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Chief Sanitary Inspector in Poland, aimed at enhancing collaboration in the field of public health. In the context of intensified migration, wartime challenges, and the threat of the spread of infectious diseases, such cooperation has become particularly relevant for ensuring epidemic security, coordinating preventive measures, and maintaining continuity of medical care for patients.
