Abstract

Tuberculosis is still one of the most common diseases in the world, and due to the war in Ukraine, the number of patients is increasing, especially in the front-line regions. A huge problem is the increase in cases of chemoresistant tuberculosis. Pyrazinamide, a synthetic drug with an antituberculosis effect, is used in complex therapy with other anti-tuberculosis agents, has a bactericidal effect and reduces the activity of mycobacteria, and is also used in the treatment of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, caseous lymphadenitis, and tuberculosis meningitis in children.
