Chemiluminescence method in analysis of pharmaceutical preparations for bromide ions

Abstract

Investigation of medications composition as well as pharmacokinetics of a drug, such as distribution, metabolism, and excretion from the body, require appropriate sensitive and selective methods of chemical analysis. Chemiluminescence methods are very sensitive and can detect compounds in the parts per million and even at parts per billion range. Bromide is known as sedative agent since nineteenth century. It is also used in antitussive medications and in pills for treatment of cardiac neuroses. So there exists a necessity to control bromide content in pharmaceutical preparations at trace levels.
