Features appointment sofosbuvir-containing regimens for chronic hepatitis C

Abstract

A breakthrough in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C (HCV) is associated with the introduction of the direct antiviral agents (DAA) into wide clinical practice), whose mechanism of action is based on blocking of the virus specific enzyme systems that are involved in viral replication. The article focuses on the administration of sofosbuvir as an agent of this class of drugs in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C, regimens for different genotypes of the virus, possible side effects and interactions with other drugs, as well as mechanisms of mutations that lead to resistance to sofosbuvir are described. In addition, the reasons of limited access to treatment with sofosbuvir-containing regimens and the possibilities of its expansion in Ukraine are analyzed.
