Morphogenesis Of Chorionic Villi In Pregnant Women With Coronavirus Disease (Covid‑19)

Название: Morphogenesis Of Chorionic Villi In Pregnant Women With Coronavirus Disease (Covid‑19)
Авторы: Savchuk, T.; Leshchenko, I.
Краткий осмотр (реферат): Villous chorion formation proceeds throughout gestation, encompassing stem, intermediate, and terminal villi. Exposure to adverse factors during pregnancy induces structural chorionic alterations that persist until delivery. SARS-CoV‑2, the causative agent of coronavirus disease (COVID‑19), directly activates endothelial cells, inducing microcirculatory disturbances alongside proliferative and inflammatory changes. Placental barrier integrity, nevertheless, permits delivery of neonates without detectable SARS-CoV‑2 RNA by PCR and devoid of clinical signs of infection.

Название: Pathomorphological ultrastructural changes in the placenta in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) during pregnancy: a literature review
Авторы: Savchuk, T.; Leshchenko, I.
Краткий осмотр (реферат): Based on the analysis of literature data, to investigate the pathomorphological and ultrastructural changes
in the placenta associated with COVID-19 during pregnancy, with the identification of critical periods for fetal
development.
Materials and methods. A search for original research articles was conducted in the scientometric databases
PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar published between 2017 and 2025. The following search terms were used: COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, placenta, pregnancy, chorionic villi, and placental telocytes. A total of 44 publications were selected to summarize current knowledge on the issue.

Vascular-Stromal Index Of Terminal Chorion Villi In Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) In Pregnant Women

Название: Vascular-Stromal Index Of Terminal Chorion Villi In Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) In Pregnant Women
Авторы: Savchuk, T.; Leshchenko, I.
Краткий осмотр (реферат): The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infects cells that express angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2). The virus’s effect on endothelial cells leads to impaired blood rheological properties, as well as changes in the vascular wall, stromal edema, and increased thickness of the vasculosyncytial membranes. This results in impaired perfusion and the development of placental dysfunction.

Quantitative determination of delayed maturation of chorionic villi in the placenta in pregnant women with COVID-19

Название: Quantitative determination of delayed maturation of chorionic villi in the placenta in pregnant women with COVID-19
Авторы: Savchuk, T.; Leshchenko, I.
Краткий осмотр (реферат): The structure of the chorion changes according to gestational age, including stem, intermediate, and terminal villi. In the placenta, SARS-CoV-2 affects cells expressing angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), including endothelium and syncytiotrophoblasts. Damage to these cells triggers pyroptosis, inflammation, and arteriolosclerosis. During its maturation, the placenta records and preserves these changes, manifested as impaired chorionic villus formation.
