Авторы: Konovets, I.; Yuryshynets, V.; Kipnis, L.; Romanenko, O.
Краткий осмотр (реферат): The article analyzes modern approaches in application of behavioral reactions of aquatic organisms as endpoints (test criteria) for the toxicity evaluation in the water quality control systems and biotesting. Parameters of the behavioral modification have some significant advantages as compared with classic lethal and sublethal toxicological test-criteria: instant responses, sensitivity, ability to detect low concentrations of toxicants, non-lethality for the test objects, etc.

Краткий осмотр (реферат): Aim: The selection and experimental verification of plants that have antibacterial, soothing, and iodine-enriching activity to form the phyto-aid kit in the shelter conditions.
Materials and Methods: Antibacterial activity was studied using the disco-diffusion methods. The iodine strip method was used for iodine deficiency research.
To study the anxiolytic effect of plants, the Spielberger-Khanin method was used. Statistical analysis was performed using JASP software.
Results: Among the iodine-containing plants, Xanthium strumarium and Potentilla alba showed the greatest antibacterial activity. Studies of juices and fruits
of fruit plants revealed the strongest antibacterial effect from the fruits of Schisandra chinensis. When comparing the iodine-enriching function of the group of
iodine-containing plants, all the studied plants showed iodine-enriching activity, with a slight priority from Zostera marina and Lemna minor. Anxiolytic activity
in the conditions of a shelter was also demonstrated by all the studied plants in the following decreasing order, namely Valeriana officinalis, Crataegus ucrainica.
Conclusions: The use of the studied plants in a shelter phyto-aid kit contributes to a more comfortable and safe stay for people in the shelter.

Авторы: Yuryshynets, V.; Konovets, I.; Kipnis, L.; Goncharova, M.; Starosyla, Y.; Leontieva, T.; Romanenko, O.
Краткий осмотр (реферат): The modern approaches to identification of pollutants that cause toxicity of water and bottom sediments were analyzed, which are mainly guided by the EDA (Effect Directed Analysis) methodology, based on biotesting of environmental mixtures in combination with successive reduction of the mixture complexity by physical-chemical manipulations/fractioning. The idea and procedure of TIE (Toxicity Identification Evaluation) consists in a sequence of analyses aimed at identification of substances causing toxicity in complex samples of the aquatic environment (matrices), in particular, bottom sediments. The performance of samples' examination according to this approach is divided into three phases: I − determination of the physical and chemical properties of the toxicity factor (Characterization); II − analytical determination of the toxicity factor (Identification), and III − prove that the determined toxicity factor is responsible for all detected negative effects (Confirmation). Various options for physical-chemical manipulation of water samples and bottom sediments in order to reduce their toxicity and narrow the range of assumptions regarding probable toxicity agent are considered. Data on biotesting methodology, its modern modifications, and some standardized methods in Ukraine and the world are given.
